After five years at the MEN, and seven years in journalism, I'm about to embark on an exciting new chapter in my career... from Monday, I'll be joining the media team at Transport for Greater Manchester 🚌
🚨Personal news!
I’ll soon be joining @MENnewsdesk as politics reporter! London’s been brilliant to me for the past 8yrs, mostly because of the friends I've made along the way, but it's a great time to return to my home city especially with local elections coming up
@MENnewsdesk But for me, it's now time for a change. I'm really looking forward to working with some familiar faces at TfGM and continuing to tell the story of the @BeeNetwork at such a pivotal time in its incredible journey!

Working as the politics writer covering the best city in the world is a dream job. I've interviewed two Prime Ministers, covered several elections and even reported on a visit from the King. If you're interested in the role, you can apply here @MENnewsdesk https://t.co/xuthqxRBCg
The vehicle involved in the accident appears to have hit the tree on the roundabout. The top of the tree is by the wreckage with some branches on the road @MENnewsdesk
Local residents who live on the estate next to the roundabout say this is the third accident to happen here in the last couple of years. One woman said: "This roundabout is notorious. 2025's not even ended yet and we've had another one." @MENnewsdesk
The roundabout is closed from every direction but some police tape has now been removed, although this may be for emergency service vehicles to pass through @MENnewsdesk
One resident of a nearby estate was walking his dog when he heard about the accident which had happened an hour earlier. He is saddened by the situation saying "it could be somebody's kids" @MENnewsdesk
We've heard from a few speakers so far, including one who spoke about Irish history. Several speakers have spoken of an ongoing "genocide" @MENnewsdesk
