I am Solomon Joseph Umoh.
An emerging writer working across poetry, fiction, and African literary commentary.
I explore African stories, memory, and the quiet ways we carry identity through loss and language.
Still becoming. Still writing.
@MikeWalker_CLE I began submitting this year also and the rejection are so discouraging. I talked to some published authors and they told me welcome it as part of the writing process.
I believe my works will find a home someday
@RuthSummie I've read Half of a Yellow Sun.
It is one of those books that makes love Adichie even more while reflecting on Nigerian's past.
It's simply a five star masterpiece.
Starting a new read today!
Diving into Fyodor Dostoevsky's Crime and Punishment for the first time.
This is my first time trying Dostoevsky though I've known his influence for years. Excited to explore this classic.
Will share my thoughts when I finish.

@her_eloquence I enjoyed Animal Farm. Growing up with little understanding of Allegory, I read it on the surface. When I got matured enough, I reread the book and my eyes were open to many things I had missed.
@goodreads Half of a Yellow Sun. Reading that book made me love Chimamanda and compelled me into exploring all of her novels.
Half of a Yellow Sun remains one of the greatest books I have read. I also give books like God of Small Things, Things Fall Apart and Wuthering Height five 🌟.
