We as humans are growing to become so deeply-rooted to our online worlds that we value the comfort and safety of it above the unpredictability of our real lives. I find this to be true in my own life too. I prefer playing a video game online with a friend over meeting in person.

I agree with the idea that we are starting to lose interest in face-to-face communications and interacting with humans in general. It seems much more comfortable to communicate via text message and it eliminates any chance of confrontation.

@jennorton515 My favorite episode is the one where everyone has a Social Media star rating like Uber drivers that can be shown by pointing your camera at them. Every action you complete is in hopes of receiving a higher rating in return. Creepily similar to modern times.. #ed109 #NOT

@jennorton515 This is one of my bigger annoyances with social media. It is really nice to see events of someone's life that I might not otherwise know about but it definitely removes many in-person conversations from happening as everyone already knows every thing.

One final big fuction of Snapchat is the addition of the Map. If you choose to share your phone's location, the app will display a Bitmoji (think caricature) of yourself at that location. You essentially can be tracked by your friends all day without talking to them. #NOT #ed109

Snapchat is an app that is a huge part of my life. I rarely send a text message to anyone anymore because of Snapchat. However, Snapchat does come with drawbacks. Your friends will see when you open a message and do not reply. Which tends to hurt feelings. #ed109 #NOT

Your messages can be saved via screenshot. The limits of Snapchat are big too. It takes much longer to reply to a friend with a picture than a text. It is hard to save long conversations on you phone. Many times sending a mass message (snapping multiple people) causes confusion.

@Emily43598042 This made it very easy to relearn problems that I couldn't seem to master. There was plenty of scaffolding and resources available to me to instruct my learning as well. I loved the piechart for track progress and giving me flexibility in what topic to work on.

@Emily43598042 Emily, great choice in using Aleks for your technology. I used a program from Aleks last summer for a math course and it was ver challenging for me to complete. My personal program required me to get three consecutive problems correct before moving on to the next concept.
