@YIMBYkieran This has been happening more and more with political announcements, I feel like they think it builds up excitement and tension.
It doesn't.
It just pisses people off when you have wasted their time waiting.
@YIMBYKieran I think having a lower training/apprenticeship wage level makes sense (regardless of age)
Makes it easier for businesses to bring new people on whilst also not punishing qualified younger people just because they are young.
Tying it to age doesn’t make much sense to me.
The amount of white-haired folks in that audience; positively giddy at the prospect of dictating how *I* should work and earn - to pay all my taxes - to fund their ironclad pension hikes and fortnightly dawdle down to the GP.
Least self-aware generation there'll ever be.
@YIMBYKieran Tbh I also think it's crazy that people get up in arms when you talk about taking the State Pension away from high earning/high net worth pensioners.
They whinge about Billionaires taking all the money and then are happy forking over 12k pa to 67+ year old millionaires
@YIMBYKieran It really feels like nobody has a clue atm, my mates supporting the triple lock AND the WASPIs is just insane imo.
Feels like they have been trained to blame Billionaires and the MegaCorps for everything but completely forget that they are subsidising rich Retirees.
Disgusting.
Why on Earth should taxpayers foot the bill to top up the incomes of boomers who couldn't be bothered to watch the news or open their mail?!
Trump telling NATO to shoot down Russian aircraft and Ukraine to recapture Crimea was not on my bingo card for today’s United Nations General Assembly.
@emilyhewertson@TowerHamletsNow I am in exactly the same position. No ballot to be seen. I’ve spoken to the council who have said that it has been sent. Seems like Royal Mail is the problem.
It’s so stupid that you can be disenfranchised by Royal Mail and reluctant councils.
@nzsamueltaylor Id agree with MMP, maybe not 4 year parliaments though, I like the lightly longer term thinking that 5 years allows.
Any reform to the Lords though? I’d say we need more cross benchers and experts and less political appointees.
I think the current direction on devolution is ok
