Some Nigerians can be incredibly gullible when it comes to politics.
I told one of my aburo, a die-hard Peter Obi supporter, that it looks like Alex Otti of Abia State, whom he always praises as the best governor in Nigeria, may be on his way to the APC.
Guess his response? He said Otti would only be going there as a โspy.โ According to him, itโs all part of Peter Obiโs grand strategy and the APC โwonโt know what hit them.โ ๐
At the same time, some other Obi/Otti supporters have already started attacking Alex Otti, even though he hasnโt officially moved anywhere.
One person asked whether all the hype over his achievements had gotten into his head. Another ask, has he even constructed up to 300 kilometres of roads in Abia State? These are guys that usually hail him before the news of his intending move filtered out.
For many of them, politics is not about performance or good governance. It is about which side of the political divide you stand on. The moment you are perceived to cross over, your achievements suddenly become insignificant.
That is why when some ADC leaders claim they want to โrescueโ Nigeria and bring a new lease of life to the people, you have to ask: where have they been since 1999? Many of them were in the PDP and held positions in government for 16 years and moved into APC where they also held government for 8 years.
Less than 3 years outside, they want to rescue Nigerians, and some people believe them. Is that not gullibility?
Yet, despite this history, some people still see them as saviors. These are not children; they are grown adults.
What we are witnessing is not principled politics. It is politics driven by hate, blind loyalty, rivalry, and ego.
It is amusing to see how some journalists and core opposition characters, posing as โactivistsโ, continually express their own deep-seated biases as the wishes of โthe Nigerian peopleโ. How and where did they aggregate the views of โthe Nigerian peopleโ?
Perhaps, by โthe Nigerian peopleโ, they are referring to those usual suspects who gather at the entrance of the National Assembly and pose for cameras; or the 15 Senators who voted against the majority of 94 Senators; or the less that 25 Rep members who walked out on the majority of over 300 Rep members; or those vocal few who hop from one TV station to the next everyday; or those who gather under the comment section on social media and vent their spleen - just how did they aggregate the views of โthe Nigerian peopleโ?
Nigerians should be alert as we enter an election season. Some journalists and almost every so-called โneutralโ commentator or activist you see or hear in the media are all working for one interest or the other; they just donโt have the guts to come out with their full chest to openly support the political party or candidate for which or whom they are working.
Today 15 February 2026, I visited the Dangote Refinery, what I call the 8th wonder of the world.
After successful completion of this expansion project, capacity will increase to 1.4m barrels per day ๐๐พโฆ F.Ote๐ฒ

Our new report shows how violence from armed groups and heavy-handed raids has turned towns like Agwa & Izombe into ungoverned spaces.

First, it was Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, then Bayo Ogunlesi, the World Bank, and now Emir Sanusi โ all confirming Nigeriaโs economic reforms are working. Yet someone without an economics degree on X says we shouldnโt mind them. He said we should listen to him instead. ๐คก ๐คก

A lot of people find me awkward for not being adventurous. I have never been adventurous. I love myself a lot and will never be adventurous.
What some see as adventures are pure unnecessary risks. I take calculated risks and measure my chances well.
A few friends sometimes told me to try swimming. I was brought up in a village where many young boys know how to swim. They go to eba and owowo rivers to learn how to swim. I was always a spectator in those days in the 80s.
The only thing I risked was football and I was always very careful on the pitch. I sustained injuries on a few occasions but they weren't very serious injuries.
I do not intentionally toy with whatever can lead to my death. Let us be careful please. Adventure is good but don't kill yourself just because you want to be adventurous.
Good morning friends.

I hope the president will just face his business of governance, not minding the noise in the ADC . Sometimes, he can choose to just relax and watch the comedy of absurdity in the opposition.
