Especially the latter half of Hellboy and all of Hellboy in Hell has really well written nuanced story telling

I genuinely think that the Hellboy universe has some of the best story telling I’ve read in comics. It blends folklore, mythologies, even different interpretations of earth and hell and yet makes it all feel connected
