Defense attorneys in the Alex Diaz de la Portilla case have accused Miami-Dade Ethics investigator Karl Ross of contempt. They say Ross withheld material evidence that proved their clients innocent of criminal activity, and interfered with witnesses.

Broward State Attorney Harold F. Pryor said investigators in the Alex Diaz de la Portilla corruption case relied on "unreliable" witness testimony and "circumstantial evidence" to prosecute. Basically, investigators brought a dud case.
