What’s the current picture at #Pompey with overseas recruitment & What’s possible before the end of the window?
I’ve covered this in my first article, with a dense overview detailing the ESC/GBE regulations for #EFL Championship clubs.

@GBEExpertHub Seems an unnecessary shift for EFL clubs with the new U23 ESC rule.
I was hoping for more of a step change with 50% of ESC slots to be used for U23s as that would seem a more logical application of the theory of the rule change but also retain the vast talent ID for EFL clubs.
Understand Portsmouth are in advanced talks to sign Dutch midfielder Gibson Yah from FC Volendam. The 22-year-old former Ajax youngster is thought to be available to move on a free transfer following Volendam’s relegation from the Eredivisie. #Pompey#Portsmouth#FCVolendam
@pompeyshaun1986 Absolutely, the club should be moving towards the Dutch/ Belgian leagues anyway due to the full GBE status eligibility and the quality of the leagues being better.
Under these new rules Le Roux wouldn’t be eligible to get any permit if he wasn’t here already.
The FA have published new criteria for the ESC/GBE work permits ahead of the new season and it will impact potential overseas recruitment for #Pompey this summer.
Big change: ESC now only u23s
I wrote an article on it last year and can do the same this year if there’s interest?

@pompeyshaun1986 If we have any of our 4 ESC slots available to sign players from overseas that aren’t from the top leagues, they’ll have to be under 23.
Over 23 players from abroad would need to come from better leagues, such as Belgium or Netherlands.
@HancockAnalysis Comparably, the broadcasting revenue climbed by £9m from £2.5m to £11.5m for the jump from L1 to the Champ, and matchday revenue rose by £1.3m from £6.9m to £8.2m.
Identifying commercial opportunities is easier said than done but it has to be focused along with player sales.
@HancockAnalysis Commercial revenue streams should be a huge focus for the club. From our L1 winning campaign to our 1st season in the CH, the club only increased commercial revenue by <£600k from £4.2m to £4.8m.
But to their credit, they did generate a high commercial revenue income for L1.
🚨💥 EXCL | Calvin Brackelmann to FC Augsburg - DONE DEAL ✔️
Full agreement reached. All done and sealed. Long-term contract signed. The 26 y/o centre-back joins on a free transfer from Paderborn.
Announcement scheduled. @berger_pj@SkySportDE 🇩🇪
@pompeyshaun1986@HancockAnalysis He does count as GBE now, not to do with him declaring for Croatia but by qualifying for GBE due to mins played for us from August to Jan so converted after the winter transfer window.
@HancockAnalysis Also think one pull they have which hasn’t really been mentioned is the Oxford contingent there that Mous shared a dressing room with: Atkinson, Dickie, Sykes etc.
The squad profiles kind of suit Mous too with the exception of their wingers.
🚨 | Blackburn Rovers and Charlton Athletic have Dundee United's Will Ferry on their list.
Ferry is entering the final year of his contract, and interest is heating up.

Really invested in Casper Widell from Excelsior in the Eredivisie.
Got a lot of qualities to continue to develop into a top CB and I can really see a move to the Championship happening this summer.
Would love that sort of signing at Pompey if we want a centre half.
