Shai Gilgeous-Alexander has been named the Kia NBA MVP for the first time. He is the second MVP recipient from Canada (Steve Nash in 2004-05 and 2005-06) and the third with the Thunder (Kevin Durant in 2013-14 and Russell Westbrook in 2016-17).
In 2024-25, Gilgeous-Alexander became the second player in NBA history to average at least 32.0 points and 6.0 assists per game and shoot 50.0% or better from the field in a season. He joined Michael Jordan, who accomplished the feat in the 1988-89 and 1989-90 seasons.
