Labour’s inaction has filled Birmingham with rat-infested rubbish.
Reform’s response? Agree with it.
Only a vote for the Conservatives will stop this happening to your town.
After nearly twenty years serving the wonderful people of Surrey Heath and over a decade in Cabinet across five government departments, I have today taken the decision to step down as a Member of Parliament. Read my letter here 👇
🚨NEW🚨Independent data from OfLog reveals Labour-run Birmingham is one of the WORST performing councils in England. Labour have bankrupted the council & hiked council tax on residents to pay for their out of control spending & eye-watering levels of debt https://t.co/UyrOWKU69a
This week I was delighted to introduce Second Reading of the Leasehold & Freehold Reform Bill. The Bill takes an important step to reform the antiquated & unfair leasehold system out of existence. I look forward to working with colleagues across the House as the Bill progresses.
“Leasehold is a fundamentally unfair system”
@michaelgove on why we are reforming the leasehold system through our Leasehold & Freehold Reform Bill
JUST IN Sir Keir Starmer has ordered Labour lords to vote to block 100k new homes, seeking to end the dream of homeownership for thousands of families. This is despite boasting that Labour would be the party of the builders not the blockers https://t.co/FAcAhJCgJ8
.@BhamCityCouncil has inexcusably let down its tenants - its failures have left thousands in homes that are unacceptable. I am seeking an urgent meeting to demand improvement for tenants. As with other poor quality housing providers, I will not hesitate to take action as required
I am taking legal action against Wallace Estates for their failure to fix unsafe buildings. They are letting down leaseholders. Any attempt to evade responsibility is unacceptable. We will use all tools to make them pay what the law says they must. Leaseholders must be protected.
.@michaelgove makes clear in Parliament that there will be no backsliding on building safety - developers and freeholders must meet their responsibilities and pay for remediation costs 👇
What is levelling up?
🗳1) Empowering local leaders & communities
