@NHL_Muse Bottom line:
โข Makar is a true franchise two-way defenseman who drives play in all three zones.
โข Bouchard is an elite offensive defenseman, especially on the power play.
Both are outstanding players โ just very different styles of defenseman.
@NHL_Muse Makar is one of the most dynamic defensemen in the league. His skating and ability to carry the puck through the neutral zone allow him to drive offense and create plays off the rush. Heโs constantly involved in transitions and can create scoring chances with speed and movement.
@NHL_Muse Bouchard has improved defensively but relies more on positioning and stick work. Heโs effective within Edmontonโs system but doesnโt have the same defensive impact or mobility as Makar.
@NHL_Muse Defensively:
This is where the biggest difference shows up. Makarโs skating, gap control, and ability to recover defensively make him one of the best two-way defensemen in hockey. He can shut down plays early and transition the puck the other direction quickly.
@NHL_Muse Bouchard, is more of a traditional offensive defenseman and power-play quarterback. His strength is controlling the blue line, moving the puck efficiently, and unleashing a heavy shot from the point. Playing with elite forwards certainly helps maximize that role.
@Avalanche@AltitudeTV Battled for a point? In what world is out shooting a team by more than twenty and not winning 2 points a battle? Weak sauce is what it is. The point is a participation award.
