@FriedgeHNIC@SatiarShah@SportsnetSpec This seems hilarious. We get reports that Stan Bowman was going to talk to Nurse about the possibility of a trade, now Nurse is the one asking for a trade.
Something really weird is going on in Edmonton.
@DonnieandDhali Douglas is 26 and showed growth when given the opportunity at the end of the season. Playing under Manny who may give him the confidence and time to grow even further would be beneficial
@barn_burner19 It’s more comments about the fact that it’s the player Petey wants to be, not the player management thinks he can be.
Love the difference in approach. All Rutherford saw was a path to try and make him like Crosby
@SatiarShah Ever since the Rutherford/Alvin era EP40 couldn’t be himself on the ice. They were asking him to be a Sidney Crosby type of player and that’s not him. With a GM and now coach who just ask him to play his way hopefully he can turn things around.
Now that Manny has been officially named the head Coach for Vancouver now to wonder two things 1. Who will be the GM for Abbotsford as they now has bigger task ahead of finding a new head coach and 2. Who will be the assistants on Mannys NHL bench and why not have Burrows
@CanucksArmy I wonder about the idea of trading Demko for a top 10 pick. Schneider got them 9th when they traded him. Could Demmer get them the 9th from Florida who needs to make a decision on a starting goalie?
@frank_seravalli They may be focused on the playoffs, but Bruce isn’t and if they get distracted by having no a coach who no longer works for them being interviewed by other teams I’d say that’s an issue.
@CanucksArmy “Establishing the proper environment and culture is a vital first step in creating a solid and authentic connection throughout the entire organization” Wow, that speaks volumes about the changes needed
@CanucksArmy The missing piece is real linemates. Trying to replicate the Lotto line success he had with Miller and Boeser by playing with a carousel of wingers who don’t have the same skill sets or scoring pedigree does nothing to improve his performance.
@FAN590@jtbourne@JDBunkis@SamAMcKee Stenberg is often compared to Barkov. A player who could, if he wanted to put up 100 pts in a season but chooses to play a 200ft game. If you want to fix your defensive issues it can’t just be by making changes to the d core you need forwards you can play effectively in the dzone
@CanucksArmy I see a world where given the weight the top end Centers have SJ take Malhotra as the solid 2C they want be behind Celebrini. With Chayka as the GM in Tor and being statistically driven he could go Stenberg. The would be the only way McKenna drops. If not take Reid no matter what
@CanucksArmy@QuadrelliD@harmandayal2@patersonjeff Going into the lottery last night I knew the Canucks weren’t going to win 1st overall. More concerning though is the fact that during both draws the team that the host talked about the most and how winning that lottery could affect that team, ended up winning. Just slightly odd.

@CanucksArmy@bet365ca Does Rutherfords comments about stepping away and putting a new and strong leadership group in place change the perception of what we could see with the “top 5” candidates
@CanucksArmy The NHL will continue to dump all its resources in to promoting US teams. My prediction, which would be absolutely ridiculous to happen to the Atlantic division, Florida gets 1st overall pick and Seattle gets second.
