HE’S AN OLYMPIAN!!
Bluffton grad Trevor Bassitt qualifies for the 2024 Paris Olympics!! He finished 3rd in the Finals of the 400 hurdles with a time of 47.82 seconds!
What a contrast between Joe Mazzulla (NBA champion 🏆) and Monty Williams (fired 2 years in a row)… 🤔
Monty Williams:
“[Analytics] used to be annoying to me… I had a problem with guys pulling numbers out of the clouds. To say that you need X amount of threes per game, I don’t believe all that stuff.
Defensively… some of these numbers are just silly… I listen to it and I’m like cmon man. I don’t want to see all that stuff and feel like I’m back at Notre Dame in a class I didn’t want to take.”
Joe Mazzulla:
“We added up every single point scored in the playoffs by their whole team and the percentages of what the others did came out to be analytically higher than what those two did on their own over the course of a long period of time.
“Once you add up all those numbers you look at… what can we control, what can we absolutely take away, what are non negotiables…”
Victor Wembanyama:
“I feel like I'm immune to the ... distractions like partying, alcohol, drugs. Like, why would I ever do that? I don't have nothing to compensate for."

Alabama is headed to its first Final Four in program history...and an important reason why: Oats' emphasis on +EV shot selection.
Through tonight, the Tide have attempted just two total mid-range jumpers in four tournament games (17' to 3PT).
Only 87 of Alabama's 1,250+ 2FGAs are from outside of the paint. 11 of those attempts are from this tournament. Their 3.6% mid-range attempt rate is the third-lowest in college basketball.
Here is tonight's shot chart. It's beautiful. (That missed shot was a short-clock toss-up by Estrada at 4:12 in the 2H.)
HOLD UP, WAIT A MINUTE.
So you mean to tell me that in an NCAA Tournament game a #14 seed knocked off a #3 full of NBA players playing a ZONE actually happened!? When all I see on this app is people knocking zones.. Go figure!
Here is the list of every player in OHSAA History to start on a Final 4 team ALL 4 YEARS of his HS career:
1: LeBron James
2: Colin White
That’s it. 10 players over 102 seasons have played at State all 4 years. 2 of them 4x starters.
(s/o @B_Stabler for the assist on this!)
