After 10+ years as a #caregiver to my dad who battled #Parkinsons and many months #writing and revising, I’m excited to share that Every Step Is a Gift has been published.
I’m so very grateful for the support and encouragement to find my voice on a painful but empowering story.
In my 4,000+ mile bike ride across the U.S., I can confidently say that Wyoming was the state in which I felt least welcome.
I hope to return proudly driving an EV with out-of-state plates one day.
@sweatystartup Online dating app that uses feedback as “currency.” Providing feedback on others’ profiles grants more swipes and earns karma. Options to leave feedback after chat or after date(s).
Paid option available in lieu of giving feedback to get swipes or to unlock feedback from others.
Solving climate needs a more heroic narrative if it's going to recruit the same talent investing themselves in machine learning, crypto, and language models. And probably better pay, too.
Again, @davekarpf is dead on: "Silicon Valley’s best minds are thinking about AI, blockchain, & the Metaverse. The climate crisis, it seems, is Someone Else’s Problem."

Everyone wants to build, no one wants to maintain (let alone fix).
@mikewardian@Rosievizslaruns@washingtonian Great piece, great human being.
Is it true that only ~300 people have run across the US? Figured that number would be higher but I’m likely exposed to more of the ultra endurance types than I realize.
Hi, @DDOTDC. Thank you for activating the traffic light at 21st + H, NW. Now finish the job and add a NO TURN ON RED sign for SB drivers on 21st.
It’s the least you can do to recognize cyclist and pedestrian life after Shawn O’Donnell was killed by a truck driver there.
#bikeDC
@CordellTraffic@DCPoliceDept Appreciate that info, Cordell. Asking because I’m genuinely curious about the approach in a situation like this. And also, I don’t want to remember the truck as much as I want to remember the bike when I pass this spot.
Why didn’t @DCPoliceDept outline the wheels of the bike that Shawn O’Donnell rode as she was killed?
Investigators only outlined the location of the wheels of the Ernest Maier cement truck that ran her over.
#bikeDC
Drivers kill people on bikes, not vehicles.
An Ernest Maier cement truck driver killed Shawn O’Donnell yesterday. Thank you, @jas_hilton, for writing that.
I will continue taking up as much space as I can on the road in your honor, Shawn. #bikeDC

A reminder, yet again, that #bikeDC riders risk our lives every time we take to the street.
Greeted by a mangled bike under a cement truck wheel at 21st and I NW this AM arriving on campus.
Came back later to see forensics on site. Really hoping for reporting and justice.
I worry that would-be-Dem votes sit out of elections because they know the system is designed to give Republicans an advantage. The Senate, Electoral College, and lottery of the Supreme Court work in GOP favor.
It’s been proven over and over that majority will doesn’t matter.
@davekarpf It’s the perception of control that drives people here, right? Digital spaces/worlds are attractive because we think we can curate our images/experiences into the ideal. The more “choices” we are given, the more options we are willing to pay for.
Zero faith in government to protect our safety, our health, and our climate at this point. Wildly disappointing.
Not sure why I even glance at social media on days like this. It all feels like yelling into the void. Tons of wasted energy here.
Couldn't be more excited about this partnership. Congratulations to the @ClimateRide team and community of riders, donors, and 100+ beneficiaries. The next five years will be huge!
@StaciW_DC, see you and #algofam on the road/trail for upcoming #climateride events!
We're excited to announce our partnership with @ClimateRide. This initiative will see us commit $15M over 5 years by matching funds raised by #ClimateRide participants & contributing $500K annually for program expansion. #GreenCrypto#ShapeTheFuture
