Rachel Chernos-Lin is a kind, thoughtful and hardworking city councillor for Don Valley West. I really enjoy working with her and appreciate our friendship.
I’m very proud to support her.
I’m proud to support EarlyON at our Yonge and Eglinton Community Centre and Mothercraft.
Thank you to everyone in our community who participated in the Midtown Family Wellness Fair- sharing resources and services related to mental health and well-being, child growth and development, nutrition, safety, parenting, and family wellness.
Thank you to MP Vince Gasparro for inviting me to participate in a conversation with parents, school board reps, students and the Toronto Police about Bill C-34, the Safe Social Media Act. It was a very thoughtful discussion about ways to keep our kids safe online.
I recently joined my friend, Jonathan Okubay, and the Eritrean Canadian Sports League to meet some our city’s future soccer stars. This program is such a wonderful way for these kids to stay healthy, learn about teamwork and to celebrate community and their Eritrean heritage.
Thank you, Leslie for joining me this morning! I appreciate working with you to support our Toronto-St. Paul’s community and to advance our city’s priorities. It always begins by listening to our neighbours.
Great time chatting with neighbours out at St. Clair West this morning with @JoshMatlow, gearing up for our municipal elections on Monday, October 26th.
It’s been a real pleasure working collaboratively with Josh here in Toronto—St. Paul’s. I hope we can continue that work in November!
Ontario Place should be a fun, vibrant, green and public destination for everyone to enjoy. I was proud to move a motion at council to ensure the City of Toronto takes a stand and intervenes in support of a Supreme Court challenge against Doug Ford’s private Spa deal. It’s being heard today.
It was a pleasure to cheer on the Girl Guides selling cookies at Yonge and Eglinton this evening.
It was also a pleasure, and obviously a civic duty, to eat the cookies I bought from them.
A few years ago, I moved a motion to fund and establish a new Youth Hub on Oakwood Ave. Since then, For Youth Initiative and their partners have done wonders with the space, helping our kids and community be safe, resilient and well.
It was a pleasure to join their Savvy Seniors Tech program today that connects youth with older adults, learning from each other and developing friendships.
ps- see that pic of me and that remarkable woman in the sweater?
That’s Mama B. She’s one of the kindest, wisest and most wonderful people I’ve ever met.
Thank you to my friend, Vince Gasparro for joining me at Eglinton Station this morning. He’s a terrific MP for Eglinton-Lawrence and I really appreciate how well we work together for our Midtown community.
I was out with my friend, Josh Matlow, at Eglinton Station this morning meeting residents on their way to work. Josh has served his community at City Hall since 2010, fighting for affordability, stronger renter protections, and efficient transportation. I am proud to support him for re-election as councillor in Toronto—St. Paul’s.
I visited the 580 Rollers, a group of older residents who are creating a NORC (Naturally Occurring Retirement Community) on Christie St- their building is on a site where their once was a rollerdrome, right across from the Wychwood Barns!
We’re working together to support our community’s ability to age in place.
Wishing you and your family a Happy Thanksgiving weekend!
The Wychwood Barns Farmers Market is one of my favorite places in the city.
It’s where we support local farmers and vendors, buy fresh produce, delicious food and gifts, and where our community comes together.
I’m very proud to work closely with the Yonge Eglinton Community Centre to support programming for everyone in our community from young families to older adults. It was a pleasure to join so many friends at the Seniors Active Living Fair.
Homeownership is out of reach for too many young people and families.
Too many people are spending more of their paycheque just to keep up with their rent or mortgage and homelessness is rising.
Every Ontarian deserves an affordable place they can call home and to stay safely housed. Here is my plan to deliver on that promise.

Every Toronto tenant should have a home that’s safe, healthy and affordable. And if your landlord is neglectful, and doesn’t respect your rights, you need to know that City Hall has your back.
That’s what I’ve been fighting for, and we’ve achieved some big wins. But there’s a lot more work to do.
