Daniel Kretinsky has agreed a deal to become the largest shareholder in West Ham United in the wake of David Sullivan’s resignation, after the family of David Gold agreed to sell an additional stake in the club to the Czech billionaire.
Kretinsky’s stake in the newly-relegated Championship club will rise from 27 to 43 per cent following a deal with Vanessa Gold, who inherited her father’s shares after he died in 2023.

A major West Ham United sponsor has said it is “extremely concerned” at allegations of sexually predatory and exploitative behaviour made against the club’s co-owner David Sullivan.
Boyle Sports, a principal partner of West Ham and whose logo appeared on the front of their men’s and women’s team shirts last season, is the first of the club’s commercial partners to comment on the claims made about Sullivan in a joint investigation by the BBC and The Times.
In a statement to The Athletic, a Boyle Sports spokesperson said: “BOYLE Sports is extremely concerned at the serious nature of the allegations levelled against David Sullivan.
“It is our understanding that the Independent Football Regulator is reviewing this matter urgently and we wholeheartedly support their efforts in doing so.”

This relegation wasn’t caused in one season.
It was years of drift, bad decisions, poor managers & losing our identity.
From leaving Upton Park to this.
“World class team, world class stadium.”
From the person who jumped ship during our demise.
Sad day for our football club.
From three consecutive seasons in Europe, winning the Conference League, reaching the semi-final of the Europa League to being relegated to the Championship three years later.
An absolute disgrace how far West Ham have regressed. The fans deserve so much more.
We either go all the way and have Tuchel grabbing the mic at the victory parade and screaming “I fucking told you all!” or we go out in the first knockout round in disgrace and he’s sacked before the flight home. No in between.
Open letter to the @WestHam owners:
You’ve killed the soul of West Ham. Loyal fans, who’ve bled claret and blue for decades, are now filled with resentment 🤬
This club was built on working-class values, a community that stood together. But now? It feels like a circus 🎪, with clowns 🤡 running the show.
Relegation is looming, and yet matchday tickets soar to £130. How can you expect fans to keep supporting a club that seems to have lost its way?
Future fans are turning their backs, and can you blame them? The club is dying ⚰️ right before their eyes, and it’s heartbreaking 💔. The owners don’t care, the players don’t care, but the fans? Are the ones carrying this club on their backs, once again.
It’s time to wake up and remember what West Ham truly stands for.
20 mins that has just underlined how important Taty and Pablo have been. Bit mad to replace them with Todibo and Wilson who regularly fail to keep pace with the game. Easy to play through without them.
