Built out an internal admin dashboard this week, provisioned the AWS infrastructure myself, created the required admin endpoints and controls, and shipped a frontend to start consuming them. Plenty more to add, but it's solid progress.
Made a bunch of accessibility improvements across extreme text sizes + screen reader / VoiceOver flows (including better behaviour with Apple/Android native Dynamic Type. More updates coming soon as we keep tightening support for people who rely on assistive tech.
{ ...more improvements coming soon }
@louszbd@Zai_org It’s a shame, the privacy policy for Z Code is dreadful, every prompt is recorded, these tools can only be used once privacy is built correctly.
Spent the last few weeks rewriting our Node backend and moving the frontend to Next.js 16. Routing’s cleaner, pages feel snappier, token handling is safer, and debugging is much smoother, so we can ship faster.
Really proud to be doing this with a team that supports kids’ mental health.
Connected Accounts arrives next week: Settings → Connected Accounts lets users manage which providers are linked to their account (Email / Google / Apple / Facebook)
giving people more freedom to control how they sign in and what they don’t want linked.
Swapped OneSignal in‑app messages for a DatoCMS‑driven in‑app popup flow. Editors push image/headline/body/CTA, target audiences, schedule start/end, and pick which screens show the popup, same features, editor‑first, way cheaper.
Next: move pushes to Expo Push, saves the business thousands per year.
A small UX update to the Fitness page, moving the most-used feature higher up and making the overall experience feel cleaner and easier to navigate.
One small step at a time toward a better Smiling Mind experience. Releasing next week!
Built a Notifications Centre for our Learning Hub platform.
Designed to give teachers a single place to stay up to date with:
• new content & classroom resources
• product improvements
• important announcements
Just continuing to stack improvements, one by one.
Started this week improving caching for our audio sessions
Better UX feedback when sessions can’t instantly load, higher quality on long sessions, and a much smoother feel overall.
More improvements coming.
Replaced the filters this week.
Built new filters with a floating button and a filter sheet.
One of the main reasons for the change was to support adding more filters in the near future.
Another step toward the bigger goal of revamping the app.
A small improvement, a proper download progress bar.
Before, bigger downloads didn’t really show what was going on
Now you can actually see it loading, know when it’s done, and if something goes wrong.
Small change, but planning to keep stacking improvements like this over the next few weeks.
Put together my first UI change at Smiling Mind.
It’s a new screen (currently behind a feature flag and waiting to be released), but a nice milestone early on.
I’ve been deep in dependency upgrades (which I genuinely enjoy), and now also getting into the product experience side of things.
