The Nigerian Army has announced plans to recruit and train an additional 28,000 soldiers to strengthen its fight against insecurity across the country. The expansion follows the establishment of a new training depot in Amasiri Edda, bringing the number of recruit training institutions to three.
The Army said the move will boost manpower, improve operational effectiveness and support ongoing efforts against terrorism, banditry, kidnapping and other security threats. It also reaffirmed its commitment to enhancing personnel welfare, modernising operations and improving deployment strategies.
