The issue in the UK debate is that certain participants want to pretend that bookmakers are the only entities motivated by self-interest. It's absurd when careers and mini-empires are being built on the back of levy funding.
@inga1937@VaughanLewis1 Industry consultants' incentives are obvious so when they focus on issues (or downplay others) it's easy to spot. They are often dismissed, even when they have legitimate points, because of this. The 'other side' present themselves as independent when they are anything but.
