Redesigning city streets to support human behavior isn't rocket science. But it does take a willingness to challenge the status quo assumptions about public space.

Honestly tired of false equivalence being drawn between Shaheen Bagh and the BJP’s Nari Shakti Jan Akrosh Morcha.
One was a protest by women who were at risk of having their citizenship snatched away, of being thrown into concentration camps.
The other was a PR stunt by a government whose fake Women’s Reservation Bill was exposed as a BJP Preservation Bill.
The right to protest is a fundamental right. But when a party in power acts like it is in the opposition, using the streets of Mumbai as a site for political theatre, people will rise up and speak out.
Instead of filing FIRs against those who dare to question the BJP, the Mumbai Police should file FIRs against BJP Mumbai - just like they filed FIRs against protestors in Aarey, against those protesting against CAA-NRC.
Otherwise, spare us the sermons on hypocrisy.
As expected, a case has been filed against the brave woman who stood up to the BJP in Mumbai by Zen Sadavarte, the daughter of Gunaratna Sadavarte - a BJP-affiliated lawyer who is the poster child for “fake citizen concerns.”
The sheer arrogance and entitlement of the party in power should disgust you and me. “Disrespect” to a minister warrants an FIR, disrespect to the people of Mumbai is totally acceptable 🤡
Point at any good Infrastructure in Delhi, you’ll hear a Delhiite thanking Sheila Dikshit. As Chief Minister, she significantly increased Delhi's green cover from 26 sqkm in 1997 to nearly 300 sqkm by 2010. Her administration developed around 40 city forests and launched massive plantation drives aimed at making Delhi the "greenest" capital city in the world.
They should make a grand forest park in her name.
Woe to those who manipulate religion and the very name of God for their own military, economic, and political gain, dragging that which is sacred into darkness and filth. #ApostolicJourney#Cameroon https://t.co/bKteFZ3iWE
Mumbai is unknowingly sitting on architecture that is up there with the best of Europe, only it’s been left to decay.
Imagine if the government used some of the taxes on new developments to fund their restoration.
Just snapped this from my taxi and asked AI to do a restoration.
It can’t get bigger than this, @ECISVEEP letter with BJP seal!
Unholy relationship between BJP & Election commission is out in public now, they say it is a clerical error but how does BJP’s seal appear in EC’s office?
For decades, the bicycle—once synonymous with Chinese urban life—has been pushed to the margins in Guangzhou. As car usage surged, bike infrastructure was neglected. But today the city is staging an assertive return to two wheels, this time with policy and planning behind it.🧵
This is really shivering cowardice from the Centre. All the time for nonsense to protect fragile egos. No time to deal with actual problems that affect people.
If you are real about a fundamental transition of our streets, you need to challenge the implicit design priorities.
Any inclusive street pyramid🔻 should put nature and human life on top (by @GemeenteUtrecht).
Dear @mayor_mumbai, Citizens have a solution to Mumbai's AQI ; 100+ acres along the Coastal Road could become Mumbai Coastal Forest; dense native trees instead of ornamental gardens; aligned with MCAP; cool the city and filter pollution. @mybmc@CMOMaharashtra@deepikapadukone
It’s not utopian anymore, it’s happening 🙂
TN CM M. K. Stalin unveiled a municipal administration roadmap under #TamilNadu2030Vision.
Cities will adopt ‘Complete Streets’ by 2030: people-friendly roads for pedestrians, cyclists, buses & cars, with greener tree-lined corridors.

This self congratulatory tweet shows breathtaking lack of connect with the ground.
Reality check: Most people who use cycles do so for WORK and NOT for exercise/pleasure. Make cycling tracks on suburban roads, prevent cars and bikes from encroaching on them and then let's talk.
