It is embarrassing that the Nigeria Police Force is celebrating and publicizing the mere distribution of uniforms to its personnel. In well-structured countries, providing officers with proper uniforms, equipment, and welfare is a basic responsibility, not a public relations achievement.
For example, in countries like Canada, the U.K., or Germany, police officers are consistently provided with high-quality uniforms, modern equipment, healthcare support, and continuous training without the need to announce it as a headline. There, leadership understands that taking care of personnel is fundamental to building professionalism, efficiency, and respect for the force.
Nigeria, on the other hand, struggles with poor staff welfare, underfunding, and low morale. Instead of celebrating routine provisions like uniforms, the police leadership should focus on meaningful reforms ensuring adequate salaries, health insurance, housing, modern technology, and transparent promotions. True professionalism comes from investing in the welfare of personnel, not making noise over basic entitlements.
Until Nigeria begins to treat its police officers with the dignity and support they deserve just as responsible nations do the public will continue to see such announcements as evidence of misplaced priorities.

Just wanted to ask… does school still pay?
Can we honestly compare “school people” to the unschooled when it comes to making money?
Who actually ends up earning more on average those who went through formal education or the self-taught/dropout grinders?
