Shared the gospel w/ 3 sophomore classes Tuesday.

Normal objections/questions came up (sexuality, hell, etc).

But without fail, all 3 classes perked up at:

"Things won't be this way forever. One day sin, sadness, suffering, and death will stop."

Eschatology = evangelism.

The hope of the resurrection of the dead developed out of Israel's covenant (cf Deut 30:3-5). The farther the resurrection is disassociated from the covenant, the more anemic it becomes.

Eschatology sets the parameters of discipleship. Good eschatology motivates self-control in all things.

Don't worry. Jesus is returning soon. This hope produces peace which guards your mind and heart.

With so many things vying for our attention and hearts in this day and age, it is difficult to fix our hope completely on the hope of eternal life. Focus
