My friend was riding @SFBART, spotted a rider reading my book and was kind enough to snap a photo for me.
Still blows my mind that I wrote a #TrueCrime book. I work in baseball. I had no clue what I was doing, but figured it out.
Don't let your current job define who you are.
The @TheAthletic is looking for an Executive Producer to lead the launch and daily execution of a new, flagship daily live sports show.

Crafting the Call returns! Next week @Josh_Suchon and I pay tribute to John Sterling and ask big questions about broadcasting's big characters.
This week we share baseball pxp hacks, tips and tools of the trade: giving the score, the great Joe Buck Cheat, etc. Video link below:
I miss real intentional walks. The crowd booing, the .01% chance something weird would happen, the batter giving off “Yeah, I knew you didn’t want any this” vibes. If you want to walk a guy you should at least have to look like pussies for 30 seconds. It was good.
Fun to see my name in a printed newspaper again. Thanks to @ABQJournal for publishing my history of MLB rehab assignments in Albuquerque, starting with Dave Anderson & Pedro Guerrero in the 1980s, up through Kike Hernandez hiring a mobile coffee truck.

Good info, and that means that this is definitely an error on the receiver.
Fun fact, this is specifically covered in the OS Manual, which has changed the wording a bit over the years, but as of today, it says this:
"Sometimes a ball will be hit or thrown so hard that it tears through the glove of the fielder attempting to catch it. In these situations, the play should still be scored based on whether or not the catch was makeable using ordinary effort. A fielder should not be “let off the hook” because he was wearing a bad glove."
It is incumbent on the fielder to have working euqipment in essence. Thanks Jeff!
Triple-A @ABQTopes manager Pedro Lopez will coach third base for the #Rockies the next two games. Andy González is with family for his daughter's high school graduation.
I love baseball research quests and @Josh_Suchon went on a good one for @BaseballAmerica to find the first minor league rehab assignment. https://t.co/tKMIzyOmoR
Also, since there are some MLB rehabbers in OKC right now, I want to share this great article on the history of rehab assignments by my buddy @Josh_Suchon for @BaseballAmerica. It's an incredible deep dive.

I love a deep dive about an obscure baseball subject that fascinates me. Grateful for @BaseballAmerica to publish my research on who was the first MLB player to go on a minor league rehab assignment.
Also forgot how fun it is to see my byline in print😂

Such a fun rabbit hole here as a minor-league broadcaster wonders: Who was the first MLB player ever to go on a rehab assignment?
Now we can all impress friends with this trivia thanks to @Josh_Suchon 👏
Take a stroll through the history of MLB rules & procedures as @Josh_Suchon investigates the origin of the minor league rehab assignment
Find out if he can identify Patient Zero—the first big leaguer to warm up in the minors before returning from injury

I love all aspects of MLB/MiLB rules and how things came to be.
But I have to admit, until @Josh_Suchon wrote this piece, I had no idea how MLB player injury rehab assignments in MiLB got their start.

We had 0 checked-swing challenges last night in the Isotopes-Sugar Land game.
Once for sure, and maybe twice, I thought the base umpire ruled that a batter committed to a swing, just to invite a challenge so we could all see it. Sadly, the batter did not challenge.

Happy check-swing challenge day to those who celebrate. Beginning today in the PCL, teams can challenge swings or no-swings. They'll be lumped into the standard two challenges per game per team along with ball-strike challenges.
