This was another awesome cycle to scout. Had a blast watching these guys compete all season. The next couple drafts don’t look quite as fun as the past two years but I’m cautiously more optimistic about 2027 than I was a couple months ago thanks to the returnees. Now let’s draft!
I’m curious how the 2nd round plays out. There are some cool role player bets I like but the talent curve drops quite a bit towards the end & there’s little consensus on the few existing stash candidates so think things could get weird late w/ even more agent posturing than usual
Rafael Castro put up an unmatched ancillary line. The closest season to it is Paul Reed in 2019-20 w/ an 11.2 OR%, 25.7 DR%, 11.1% AST%, 9.4% BLK% & 3.3% STL%. One of the cleaner comps of the cycle imo. Can’t believe Castro is outside the top 60 on the 4 biggest mainstream boards
Query drop thread time:
Big board will be out tomorrow but in the meantime wanted to post some queries I’ve come across that have resonated with me in attempting to contextualize the class.
Prospects featured below include Ament, Steinbach, Carr, Evans, Peat, Veesaar & more
Bruce Thornton is insanely efficient. Not the best shot diet but he was ruthless regardless of shot location or play type while minimizing TOs. And while this was his best season his career marks are 69.9% at the rim, 48.6% on non rim 2s & 38.1% from 3 w/ the same 3.0 A/TO ratio.
