10 Data Analytics Tips I learnt today
1. Never trust a dashboard you didnβt build yourself ,always trace the numbers back to the source.
2. The most important skill in analytics is knowing what to ignore.
3. If everyone is surprised by your findings, you probably found something real.
4. A good analyst asks βso what?β after every insight. data without action is just trivia.
5. Learn keyboard shortcuts. the faster you move in your tool, the more time you spend thinking.
6. time-based analysis is underrated. when something happened matters as much as what happened.
7. Outliers are not always errors. sometimes theyβre the most important data points in your dataset.
8. Before you visualize, write the insight in one sentence. if you canβt, you donβt understand it yet.
9. The goal is not more data, the goal is better questions.
10. Most business problems are not data problems. theyβre definition problems nobody agreed on what to measure
