Following end of season checks, final standings have been updated. We can confirm that Joshua Bull is the official 2019/20 #FPL champion.
Congratulations @JoshuaABull π
@CrossCountryUK The lines might have reopened, but your current services are absolutely abysmal. We're crushed 4 deep into the cycle bay, where there's not even anything to hold on to because it's not designed for humans.
Only Β£130.
One criticism of mathematicians is that they always seem to have an answer for everything. Nothing is beyond their reach.
Absolutely right. Take the Christmas menu for example. @JoshuaABull is your waiter.
What's it like round here? What are the people like? What do they do when they are not doing maths? Do they have fun?
Films about people who also do maths. @JoshuaABull
It's a little-known fact that Fibonacci was a keen marathon runner.
Okay, he wasn't but he could be an invaluable help if you are a keen marathon runner.
@JoshuaABull is very keen.
@m_pacepa@OxUniMaths There's a few options, but if you go just a tiny bit further you get 377, 610, 987 (so 6.1 miles is around 9.87 km)
Or you can just handwave and say 6 is about a third of the way between 5 and 8, so 6 miles is about a third of the way between 8km and 13km

Our favourite Uninfluencer is back and he has a quiz for you. Obviously it involves maths, but you don't have to know any. And even if you do, your brain might get in the way.
@JoshuaABull, over to you.
Very proud to have won the VC's Breakthrough Researcher Award! (I'm still not entirely sure what I've broken, but hopefully we can fix it before anyone notices...)
Many thanks to all collaborators (in maths and biology) who I've had the joy to work with over the last few years!
π Our congratulations to @JoshuaABull from the Mathematical Institute for his Breakthrough Researcher Award.
Dr Josh Bull was awarded for his work on innovative mathematical and statistical approaches to analysing large spatially resolved data.

Are you an aspiring Research Software Engineer who's interested in joining a growing #SpatialBiology hub at Oxford University, working closely with biologists and mathematicians?
10 days left to apply for this position with our group before the deadline!
