A thought experiment on #baseball fans forcing @MLB to address the debacle of horrible #Umpires in the game today. How much lost revenue would force the owners to act? Would $30-40M in revenue be enough? More? Can fans reasonably organize to accomplish this? A thread: (1/9)
@TheHerd@colincowherd Don’t forget that Ken Griffin relocated Citadel from Chicago to Miami in 2022, so he actually made a similar decision as the McCaskey’s to leave Chicago and Illinois already.
@TonyGrossi@ESPNCleveland Bold take: Browns should flip Verse for more 1st rd picks and really accelerate the rebuild with a timeline that fits the QB they draft in 2027.
@MoreForYou_CLE If it wasn’t clear last season, Browns fans must admit the ownership and front office do not believe they can win this season either. This publicly signals the tank for a QB in 2027 and focus on the new stadium. Sadly, CLE fans are the ones who have to experience more pain.
@CLEsportsTalk Coco Crisp in 2016. Part of the WS run, teammates loved him, had some big hits in the postseason. Just awesome memories from that team, and he was a big part of it.
@ESPNCleveland@joevardon Has anyone called out Atkinson’s analytics comment after G3 as the ultimate ‘throw your players under the bus’ take? I see media upset about being a sore loser, and he essentially said ‘coaches did their job but players did not perform.’ Am I missing something?
@chasekr8 That typo number is still larger than the total amount the Cleveland Indians / Guardians have paid players over the past 25 seasons(!). I can only assume they are a bottom 5 spender since 2000.
@BeardDaDon That’s not how it works man. If he plays well in game 3, it absolutely does not excuse the career of playoff flops. He needs to win a championship. And if your bar is “play well in one game,” then the Cavs have no chance at a title with him.
@ESPNNBA@KendrickPerkins@PatMcAfeeShow Is the media, including ESPN, just starting to talk about this after years of evidence the refs are biased and lean towards specific outcomes? Appreciate Perk talking about it, but this feels intentionally injected to calm the storm. The NBA knows they have a problem
