An amendment by Sen. Danny Burgess has restored many of the provisions favored by NICA families including mental health care and making the parental award hike retroactive. It passed the Florida Senate unanimously. It must be approved by the House. #NICA @dchangmiami @MiamiHerald

We are not screaming about this issue because we want attention or enjoy being forced to advocate for our children who can not speak for themselves. There is so much else we should be doing right now, but we don’t have a choice. This can not be brushed off.

I sit here watching the FL House Representatives stand for a solemn prayer for guidance honesty and dignity and I can’t help but feel sick. So few actually take the bills or amendments they are voting on to heart and vote with honesty or moral guidance.
