If you're at #PAXWest come check out a panel I'm on this Friday exploring the growing impact of AI in game dev. Kieran Mckee will lead us through some NextGen perspectives about the shift of changing tech in games, with lots of important takeaways.

The wait is over; my Check Please box set just arrived! Now I'm sitting here reading it (yet again) and ugly crying (yet again) over how much I love this story. Thank you @ngoziu for the gift of the most uplifting queer story I've ever had the privilege of reading.
@ThomasEsmore The problem is getting published in those genres. My gay YA fantasy novel was finally picked up after years of shopping, only to have the publisher sit on it and do nothing (not even edit it!) until the contract was up. If it's not "school romance," nobody wants to take a chance.
@ThomasEsmore DC is treating queer characters like an abusive boyfriend. When the spotlight is on, it's all "Look how wonderful we are, yay love" and then as soon as the world isn't looking, there's a stunning display of violence. I think I'm done.
@ThomasEsmore This is seriously not OK. Marvel made these mistakes 15 years ago and learned from them. I knew DC had some catching up to do, but are they really 15 years behind? (Not to say that Marvel is perfect by any means, but still.)
Thank you @Marvel not only for a great #Pride month, but also for embracing diversity all year long. After seeing some other publishers' treatment of queer characters right as Pride month ended, I'm doubly thankful you continue to tell us empowering and uplifting stories.
So Pride month ends, and @DCComics uses an elseworlds story to very violently murder a queer character and a popular queer ship. Are you trying to tell us something? Because the message I'm getting is "June is over; you're no longer welcome."
@ThomasEsmore I totally get it. I'm sick of seeing AUs used as an excuse to violently murder characters for shock value. Even worse when it's a queer ship—as though we don't face enough violence in real life. Comics are supposed to be empowering escapes. Shame on DC: was Pride just marketing?
@alphachar About 8 years ago I was working for a company that needed an art book published and we used Ingram Spark. The results were outstanding, particularly since we built the book in Office.
Granted, my experience is almost a decade out of date, but happy to share more info if you want.
PSA: If you're unable to attend a #Pride event this month, always remember that you can hold your very own Pride Parade in Dragon Quest XI from @SquareEnix 🌈
Prepare for a different story set in the same universe as Fire Emblem: Three Houses with Edelgard, Dimitri, and Claude in #FireEmblemWarriors: Three Hopes, arriving to #NintendoSwitch on 6/24!
@ThomasEsmore Who can really know? It's one of the (many) dangers of social media, I guess. Just remember that there are a ton of people who value your voice and love seeing what you have to share. Keep being you, Thomas.
@ThomasEsmore Ugh, what a missed opportunity. I mean, more queer visibility is almost always a good thing, but for all the loyal TimKon fans, DC's queer presence is pretty much literally halfhearted at this point.
Congrats to Bryan Ruby, the first (and so far only) pro baseball player to ever come out while still active. It's hard being the first: here's to your courage and strength!
Thank you for demonstrating that Baseball is for everyone!
@KitfoxGames I am absolutely loving Boyfriend Dungeon, not just for the gameplay but also for how it looks at relationships and mental health.
I am gutted that I missed the Kickstarter and hope that there'll be some way to purchase the digital art book once it's released!
@ThomasEsmore@QueerlyNerd You've likely seen this already but DC published an article about Tim Drake. It's nice to see DC treating it not just as an announcement but also as a chance to discuss why it's so important and meaningful to have a queer Robin:
