The word "contentious" here implies that there is good faith well intended and thoughtful open disagreement about how to go about a solution to an agreed upon problem.

However, both in the historic case of BIP-148 and in the present case of BIP-110, neither the big blockers nor the big spammers, respectively, have good faith, or well intended and thoughtful open disagreements about how to go about a solution to an agreed upon problem.

In the case of big blockers one cannot reasonably believe in the good faith arguments of the bcashers, unless they simply did not have the mental wherewithal to grasp the issue of centralization through growing block space.

And again here in the case of the big spammers, once again one cannot reasonably believe in the good faith arguments of the citrea et al folks, unless they simply haven't the mental wherewithal to grasp the issue of centralization through growing arbitrary data utxo's.

In other words, the "contentiousness" can't exist if the parties against haven't the intelligence AND humility to understand the problem at issue in the first place.

And for folks like Parker, Zucco, Odell, etc., it is difficult to not assume the worst because all things considered these folks seem to have the mental capabilities to grasp the seriousness of the moment. But perhaps not.

Going back to helping men with frame is much more satisfying than rage baiting about race. Whites won’t change until financial collapse anyway.
