A Pullman City Councilman has accused the WSU athletic director of verbally attacking him and threatening his businesses over a social media video of a party at the athletic director’s home. https://t.co/yqLal6Gp74

Thank god, and good-bye 👋

Nick Rolovich’s short and controversial tenure as Washington State’s football coach has ended after just 11 games.

So let me get this straight...
@WSUPullman: Spends millions on football instead of academic programs in hopes of ad $$$

Also @WSUPullman: Can't get coach to get the #vaccine even with the threat of infection related forfeits from the #Pac12

[Joshua Hiler @JoshuaHiler]

IDK why this annoys me so much except that the local business scene has been suffering for ages in Pullman having to rely on the whims of the student population and doesn't need yet another chain moving in

[Joshua Hiler @JoshuaHiler]

Apparently this is a really spicy take given the response from my classmates but #Pullman (or #MoscowID) doesn't need a Target... We already have 2 Walmarts and Target is just expensive Walmart with a red sign...

[Eric Fejeran for Pullman City Council @EricFejeran]

#Pullman's voting districts are not equal. A person voting in Ward 2 has almost 4x the amount of political power than a voter in Ward 1. As your elected city council rep, this will be a priority for me. 1 person 1 vote!

[Joshua Hiler @JoshuaHiler]

@larrycebula @spokaneflag @ImErinRobinson I was fond of the 1912 design (I was invited to join the commission after I spoke at council in favor of bringing it back), but I was swayed to the idea that it should be something new. FWIW designs that used 1912 as the base did pretty poorly in the vote.

Announcing the new #Spokane flag! Designed by Spokane resident Derek Landers: it features green for our natural surroundings, the river which runs through our city, and the sun, the Salish word (sp̓q̓n̓iʔ) for which gives our city its name. #SpokaneFlag

#Spokane's first flag was adopted 108 years ago this week, designed by three Spokane locals in the first City of Spokane flag design contest! In less than a month Spokane will be holding another, and your design could be our next flag! #spokaneflag

#Spokane is trying to pass a new police contract that reduces the power of the Ombudsman and protects cops from independent investigation. Call on your elected officials and demand #nocontract without #DefundPolice and #CommunityPolicing. Protest at City Hall next Monday!

A Wikipedia user spent what I imagine was a great deal of time on this impressively sourced from news archives article on the history of the #SpokaneFlag. Makes me even more excited to be part of the next steps! #Spokane #vexillology #flag

Also, excited to see both LD 6 House Races are contested, go get 'em @ZackZappone and Tom McGarry!

[Joshua Hiler @JoshuaHiler]

Oh thank god, now we won't have this international embarrassment being associated with Spokane anymore #waelex
