@StokesTheWriter Long term motivation. All 3 of our creators are ADHD and it's easy to lose focus. So we enforce a weekly meeting to make sure we don't drop off before the product is finished.
I've been making goals out of things I enjoy, when my motivation to do them is dulled. Not like things I know I should do, like reading or writing more. Things like trying a video game I bought ages ago and never touched.
Today's goal is looking for new music. I found 3TEETH.
Crediting yourself as a creator for putting prompts into an A.I. is like saying I developed Starfield because I've been talking about Skyrim in space for years.
There are a few brilliantly realized cyberpunk worlds out there. Blade Runner, Judge Dread...
William Gibson's Sprawl Trilogy is the one world that makes me feel like, by comparison, I have no imagination whatsoever.
I need to read these books more often.
That's not all the problems I have with this game, but I don't want to spend all of Thanksgiving complaining about this dumb game.
If I want a space RPG, I'll just play Borderlands instead.
I'm a Bethesda fan boy, through and through. I have Fallout and Skyrim tattoos. My proposal was me sending my (now) wife on a quest from a priestess of Mara.
I have tried so hard to enjoy Starfield.
At every turn, it is a case study in how now to do a Bethesda game.
Which is probably why Bethesda shouldn't have tried to do space. If you won't give us a proportionate increase in quests and activities, don't just take the same quantity and spread it over a galaxy so each planet only has like 4 things to do. That's some Bioware bullshit.
You can't even get to most of them until you've leveled up, because they gatekeep exploration at every turn. And the ones you can get to? If they're not relevant to the main story, then you're probably too low level to survive.
And that's another thing.
Bethesda games are all about exploring: you'll find a balanced challenge no matter where you go, and you will ALWAYS find something interesting in every nook and cranny.
Not Starfield though.
Most planets are completely pointless, and take tons of loading screens to get to.
