“But disregard the -4 he had tonight. With the number of quality scoring chances he created, his teammates could’ve scored 1 or 2 or 3 goals. A game like tonight will be a learning lesson for him.”

@ipatt91 @the_habitant I’m not blaming everyone but him, he made some poor plays, but those goals weren’t on him like you’re implying with your use of the +/- stat.

He does have things to work on, but saying he had a bad night while using only +/- to make your point isn’t a good look

+/- is so stupid because you could step on the ice and have a negative against you without even being near the play. It by itself is useless.

@DesrosiersMat @MitchyGallo Those goals in large parts weren’t on Hutson. Anderson caused the second one with a dumb play on the boards, Savard wasn’t much help on the first goal, and the third there was no forward taking the point when Hutson went deep.

+/- is such a dumb way to assess someone’s game.

It’s always dips doodling on the perimeter that either leads to a weak shot into the defender or literally nothing at all.
