I am profoundly saddened by the tragic helicopter crash involving aircraft 5Y-DSB, an incident that has painfully claimed the lives of six Kenyans among them Hon. Johanna Ng'eno,the esteemed Member of Parliament for Emurua Dikirr.

Hon. Ng’eno’s untimely passing is not only devastating to his family and the people he faithfully represented as Member of Parliament but also a great blow to parliamentary leadership and national service.

Fearless in articulating his different agenda yet measured, accommodative to colleagues and enthusiastic in his work as a legislator.He will be remembered for his steadfast commitment to the welfare of his constituents and his unwavering voice in advancing the aspirations of his community.

I am equally heartbroken by the loss of a personal friend, Nick Kosgei, a gifted photographer whose passion for photography touched numerous lives. Through the lens, he preserved moments of national and personal significance that will remain imprinted in our collective memory for posterity.

I also mourn Carlos Keter,my former colleague at the Office of Deputy President whose commitment, professionalism and humility will be remembered by those who had the rare privilege of working alongside him in that period.

In this moment of immense grief, I convey my most heartfelt condolences to the family of Hon. Johanna Ng'eno,the people of Emurua Dikirr Constituency and to the families and loved ones of the five other victims who tragically lost their lives in this calamity. May the good Lord grant comfort to all those mourning, strengthen them through this stormy period and accord the departed eternal rest.
