There are many things I have learned while pastoring a local church but here are my top five… 👇🏼👇🏼
• Our greatest enemy is our own flesh.
Stay vigilant.
• Christ will build His church. Stay humble.
• Critics will come and critics will go.
Stay faithful.
• People will be with you in seasons of life and ministry. Stay kind.
• Waiting on God is better than the alternative.
Stay patient.
Pastoring a church is like going back to school.. but you never feel that you will graduate. Always learning. Always growing.
"It is impossible for a believer, no matter what his experience, to keep right with God if he will not take the trouble to spend time with God. Spend plenty of time with him; let other things go, but don't neglect Him."—J. Oswald Sanders
We shall never see much change for the better in our churches in general till the prayer meeting occupies a higher place in the esteem of Christians.
Charles Spurgeon
Our identity as believers is not found in a church or in our creeds; it is found in our relationship with Jesus Christ.

Pastor,
Anybody can be your friend when your church is growing, family is thriving and you are on top side.
A real friend is there when you are in the valley, failed at ministry and things seem to be going rough.
When the smoke settles and the dust clears, determine to be a real friend.
The test of our stewardship and faithfulness is not what we would do with greater resources and opportunities, but what we are doing right now with what we already have! Luke 12:42-44 #truth
When we haven’t reached certain milestone we may think “I am just not where I want to be in life” Remember Ecc 3:1 “To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven” Trust God!
A results based mindset for ministry can be discouraging. Do your best and let God do the rest! I Cor 15:58 Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord.
Charles Spurgeon “If sinners be damned, at least let them leap to Hell over our dead bodies. And if they perish, let them perish with our arms wrapped about their knees, imploring them to stay. Let not one go unwarned and unprayed for.”
After the ascension of Christ this is what was recorded. Luke 24:53 "And were continually in the temple, praising and blessing God. Amen." Looking forward to worshipping and praising God tomorrow with Lions Gate Baptist! #northvan#lionsgatebaptist#185KeithRoadEast
Step out in faith and use your gifts! Jesus warns us and says essentially use them or lose them. Luke 8:17-18 (By the way, the place place to use them is the local church so the body of believers can be strengthened and built up) 1 Corinthians 12:18-20
