The Saint! And so many more! He exuded confidence and machismo, and authenticity as an Everyman in every role. Health issues hurt his later years but many actors would die for even an 1/10 of his performances.

[Josip Condic @JosipCondic]

RIP Val Kilmer… while growing up i always thought he was one of the coolest actors. He was my Batman in the 90s!

Gene Hackman has passed away at the age of 95.
Gene was one of the greatest actors of his, or anyone's generation. He was a powerhouse, as adept at comedy as he was drama. Today is a very sad day, we've lost a legend. Gene was a giant of cinema.
R.I.P Gene Hackman

[Josip Condic @JosipCondic]

RIP Gene Hackman
A titan of the big screen, one of the all time greats, He brought bravado to his performances that only few could. Since his retirement I’ve thought of him often, wanting him to come back for one more great performance. His work will continue to live on!

RIP to one of the greats, Enjoy that great cup of Joe!

Martin Scorsese says his friendship with Robert De Niro started when they were 16 years old

"We'd lost track of each other. I didn't know he wanted to act and he didn't know I started directing ... [later] we found that we were drawn to the same subject matter, same psychological and emotion conflicts in people, in characters, and in ourselves. A certain trust was developed ... He's the only one alive now who knows where I come from, as kids, as young people. So the keyword is trust, fearless, and less vanity ... He was very powerful [after] he won the Academy Award for 'The Godfather II', but even then, we always had the danger of the studio taking away the film from you. No such thing as the final cut for me at that point of time. Inevitably, the actor would comply with the studio. This guy wouldn't do that, he's stay with you. And so I had that as a power. He was protective of me and the film"

[IndieWire @IndieWire]

Martin Scorsese told IndieWire while at the “Killers of the Flower Moon” NYC premiere last night that indie films belong in theaters as much as blockbusters; however, the label of an indie film makes it easier for theater chains to shrug off including movies in their lineups.

One of the best films of the year. Led by one of the best performances of the year. See it this weekend!! Can’t wait to see what @KurtHarder does next.

Shudder's INFLUENCER (2023) is another favorite of mine this year. Plays out like Single White Female for the social media age, and Cassandra Naud brings to the screen a truly great villain. This one goes to some surprising places. Director Kurtis David Harder is the real deal.

Remembering James Caan 🤍

[Sean Fennessey @SeanFennessey]

RIP James Caan, who channeled tough-guy vulnerability like no other actor in his generation. I *loved* watching him explode and fall apart in movies.
