Mickey Mouse base running in youth baseball and trying to force balks while kids are learning the game are the equivalent of trash presses in basketball.
Gib played at the jr EYBL Open this weekend in KC.
I sat and watched all weekend as team after team ran zone as their base defense. Almost every team ran a trash trapping press and threw three kids at the ball 75 ft from the hoop. It drove me nuts. No development. Just win now.
We had a great turnout this week for our 3rd-6th grade camps! We ❤️ the Mount Vernon community and all the support we receive. We’ve got hoopers at all levels!

Proud of this Journey Sports Shockers group for competing at session 2 of the jr EYBL open. Finished 2-2 with with 2 close losses. @GJost23 took a beating and kept going. Got pix with several NBA/NCAA guys. Also got to see my nephew from Austin hoop in person.
Bob Jost and Cece too! https://t.co/AbkWxXxCZQ via @YouTube
I’m going to try to broadcast @GJost23 and the Journey Sports Shockers first game at the EYBL open in KC at 10:20 today!
Got to spend the weekend in Grinnell with @GJost23 and this great group of 7th grade boys. 4-0. Tournament champs. Every kid contributed to the championship.
Great weekend of hoops for @GJost23 and the shockers. 2-2, lots of fun in the hotel with friends and qualified for the next jr. EYBL Open in Indianapolis!
@jtlinder The fact that the 3rd basemen gave this kid love as he rounded the bag is crazy. It would have been a much different response from my 3rd basemen had someone done this on one of the many home runs I gave up in my day. And, there were many!
