Presenting my paper on Dynamic Graph Clustering at #ICML tomorrow. Lots of extensions to explore. Come say hi!

Couldn't imagine I would be contributing to something like this a year ago. It taught me a lot about the challenges of computational neuroscience, as well as how classical methods can still shine even today. In awe of those who push the frontiers.

New post! https://t.co/zAe4VuqaD4
I go over what sampling trees are and how they work, why floating point values can be evil and how to mitigate their effects on sampling trees, and finally a couple of tips on implementation optimisations. I'll add benchmarks in the future.
Let me know if I've missed anything or misunderstood something. I wrote this to help myself understand what was going on.... and as an excellent form of thesis procrastination.
Why the UK is forced to send F-35 parts to Israel
TLDR: We are forced to send F-35 spare parts to Israel until 2051. There's almost nothing we can do about it.

The only alternative appears to be leaving the F-35 development programme which would be catastrophic for our defence industry and security.
Through a lack of foresight and cost cutting it seems we have given up a massive amount of strategic autonomy to America.
We present two algorithms for massively speeding up cell typing in the fly brain. One needs a small amount of labelled data while the other is completely unsupervised. We hope this will help labelling future Connectomes!
Got version 0 of my latest side project going:
If you want to configure a feature extraction pipeline as a DAG, using the same structs/enums you use for deserialization, this may eventually be useful (maybe).

@LivFaustDieJung The cynic in me believes this is a rather revolting attempt to reinvent himself. Many outside the UK forgot how much corruption follows him around, especially in regard to russian money. Seeing him take the credit is pretty sickening. He's literally been in bed with oligarchs...

@campbellclaret Here's a new labour policy: Radical Transparency. The people can't trust the government's word. We need a bit of verification to go with our trust. One example: FOI requests that simply call databases should become automated within a month of the first request.
@RestIsPolitics@campbellclaret@RoryStewartUK What would a Radical Transparency bill look like? And how on earth do you get the government of the day to pass it? Example points could include:
1. Digitising everything that could be subject to a FOI for easy (and automated) access
2. Publish tax returns like Norway
