I don't agree with you.
A man who sees how well you talk about your father will admire you.
There was a story of man who was sick and in the hospital.
He noticed a young lady who was always coming to take care of her sick father in the same hospital.
After observing her for a while, his son visited one day and he beckoned on the lady.
She came and he introduced her to his son.
His son got the message and did the needful.
When he was finally ready to marry her, his father told him why he introduced the lady to him.
Unfortunately, her father passed before she became his wife.
No man feels insecure seeing a woman speak highly of her father.
Rather, he will feel concerned if she highly of her mother far more than she does for her father.
End.
About 2 or 3 years ago, a young lady reached out to me to share her concerns about her relationship.
Her boyfriend at the time was staying with his married relative.
She complained that bonding with him was becoming increasingly difficult, and her boyfriend was also receiving insults from time to time because he was living with his relative.
She said she wanted to help by giving him money to rent his own place, but was unsure of how to go about it or if she was doing the right thing.
I really hope I am narrating the story exactly as she told me, because it has been long.
Anyways, my advise to her was this:
I told her to confide in a close friend of his, and give give him the money.
Then that close friend would then meet with her boyfriend and say that he was lending the money to him, so he could go rent his own apartment.
And then she should wait until he completed repaying the money before she could open up to him about what she had planned with her boyfriend's close friend.
It worked.
He was able to repay the loan some months later and was now living in his own apartment, and they had their freedom and peace.
The day she finally told him the truth, the boyfriend was in tears.
Things started to improve for him (he is a tailor).
Until one day, he told his girlfriend that he wanted to meet her parents.
The rest is history.
They are now married and are now parents.
And they are both Agbafians.
On the DM that I just posted this morning, I have a few things to say:
Although I had said that I will not advise her, let me say this in general to other single ladies.
Supporting your man is not the same as enabling him.
If you support him, he will know that you helped him and you recognize that it's not your responsibility to do certain things, such as paying rent.
And he will be appreciative.
If you enable him, he will become entitled. And he will still not appreciate you, but keep pretending that he loves you.
Because not meeting his responsibilities makes him look weak.
And he knows it.
Before a man says that he wants to marry you, he must be able to put a roof over his head.
Even if it's a single-room apartment.
That's his first major step toward showing responsibility.
You do not combine her income with his to pay something like rent.
Her man earns 120k.
She earns 120k.
If his income stays stagnant for some years, how will they be able to pay the next rent when the current one expires?
Do you see what I mean?
It then becomes both of their responsibilities, doesn't it?
If she then says, "I don't have money, and paying rent is not my responsibility," what happens then?
But I understand her. She's 30 and wants to get married, and the man is dangling the marriage card in front of her after just under five months of knowing her and seeing her twice.
And this is very typical of people in her age bracket.
If the man had his own resources, he most likely would have gone for a much younger lady that is even broke.
End.
My people, love is sweet until NEPA take light and both of una never chop.
One thing many people no like hear be say, cohabiting before marriage fit help person shine eye.
Dating is different from everyday living.
When una stay together, you go see the habits wey flowers and good morning texts dey hide.
Who dey clean?
Who dey vex for small thing?
Who sabi manage money and who dey order nonsense every week.
Marriage no be two people posting fine pictures, na two imperfect humans sharing one reality.
Sometimes abi most times sef, living together before the wedding helps you know wetin you are really signing up for.
Better to discover some things early than to enter marriage dey ask, "ah ah, na so this person be?"
As old people dey talk, no be everything powder fit cover.
Some character traits need constant light to show.
Because tell me...
If to say that couple cohabit before marriage, shebi the man fir know say him wife no dey brush teeth until afternoon?
But religion say na sin.
As me no dey religious na, I be sinner.
How far now?
No be religious man DM me say e don tire? 😂
AJD.
A wise man may hardly marry.
And most men generally become wise when they're <35.
Many of you young men have learnt so much from me with evidence.
But what you fail to understand is that I am not teaching you to avoid women, but to know how to lead women.
Even in their imperfections.
I know that most of you have smoked igbo or are high on something, or just daft.
So this post will not make sense to you.
End.
Let me repeat:
You do not choose a spouse because other people told you that the spouse is good.
You choose your spouse because you are convinced that the spouse is good for you.
End.
