Back in the 1960s, many girls started their periods at age 12 or so...in 6th grade. They were taught it was a normal process, went to school, took P.E. class, etc. They were adults who worked with cramps, enormous tooth pain, and being sleep deprived because they couldn't afford to miss work. There are products on the market to relieve symptoms.
