@ringswrapup @TheRingsofPower Honestly looks like a step up from last season in cohesive vision, cinematic quality, and pacing. I’m genuinely optimistic. I also think their vision and approach into Tolkien is coming into focus… I’m seeing more references to his letters, deeper themes, and subtle elements.
Amazon: "This season features the long-awaited Siege of Eregion, a definitive battle in J.R.R. Tolkien’s history of the Second Age of Middle-earth, from which not everyone makes it out alive. The banners are raised, and the devastating war against Sauron is just beginning."
Elrond at the Council of Elrond:
"The Barrow-wights we know by many names; and of the Old Forest many tales have been told...In those lands I journeyed once, and many things wild and strange I knew. But I had forgotten Bombadil, if indeed this is still the same that walked the woods and hills long ago, and even then was older than the old...He is a strange creature."

Did you see the possible Watcher in the Water @tolkienprof ? My mind went straight there after your recent Exploring the Lord of the Rings podcast via @SignumU 😃 (realize it’s prob not, but super snakey!)
@MrMillerSci@DigitalTolkien@Katherine_Sas Many zombie/vampire movies have situations where people try and hide the fact they are bitten/infected. Something like that?
I guess Theo’s arm/wrist kind of functions like that. Of course there’s the whole “mark of Cain” concept which is a bit different.
