Good news, Oregon. Everything is fine.
At least that’s tonight’s report.

!! SATIRE !!
The video is satire. The issues behind it are real.
Oregon’s kids can’t afford to wait.
Our fourth-graders rank near the bottom nationally in reading and math—even as education spending climbs.
More money. Worse results.
That’s a leadership failure—and our kids are paying the price.

Oregon under long Democratic control ranks near the bottom nationally:
Public education: 40th overall (World Population Review), ~44th Pre-K-12 (US News), low NAEP scores and ~33% math proficiency.
Tax burdens: 9th highest overall (WalletHub), #1 highest income tax burden.
Public safety: 46th Crime & Corrections (US News), high property crime rates (top 5).
Homelessness: 2nd highest rate among states (~64 per 10k, HUD/USAFacts 2025).
In 2001-2003 Oregon's budget was $34 Billion:
32% for education
25% for social programs
12% for infrastructure
12% for administration
6% for public safety
13% for everything else
The 2025-27 budget was $140 Billion, over four times higher:
18% for education
45% for social programs
7.5% for infrastructure
14% for administration
5% for public safety
10.5% for everything else
Focus on the money they are giving away: In 2001-03, Oregon spent $8.5 Billion, 25% of its budget, on social programs. In 2025-27, they are spending $62.7 Billion, 45% of the budget on social programs. That is 7 times as much and almost half the budget on handouts. The “Healthier Oregon” portion of the OHP spends $1.3 Billion and offers free medical for illegal migrants. They spent $60,000 on “homeless services” per homeless person in 2024, and the homeless count rose anyway.
Oregon schools fell to the bottom of the US reading and math scores. To fix the poor graduation rates, they passed a law that students don’t need to prove proficiency to graduate.
This doesn’t seem like they are addressing poverty or poor education; they are building an empire of permanent dependency with themselves in charge . With that their campaign strategy is, “Vote for us or the Republicans will take away your benefits!”
Kotek can’t blame Oregon’s money troubles on Trump. Democrats have controlled Oregon politics this whole time, even as the Federal government has flipped party control 5 times!
GREAT NEWS, OREGON! WE FIXED EDUCATION.
Kids weren't meeting the standards.
So we fixed the standards.
We got rid of them.
Reading? Problem.
Math? Problem.
Graduation? Nailed it.
Welcome to the Office of Lowered Expectations.

BREAKING: Oregon lawmakers unveil bold solution to housing, education, and the economy.
The solution: more.
More spending. More task forces to study the task forces.
A Dept. of Even More is already in planning.

I truly believe there is a safe space and love for EVERYBODY. Biological girls, biological boys, trans women, and trans men. Everyone is welcome at my table! You can disagree and still be kind.
Bravo to those girls for standing up for what they believe. You’ll be hearing from me soon💕 yay for gifts.
Truly embarrassing of the co-owner. Unfortunately shows the type of leader she is.
@GUYERDIGITAL FYI Jaime is a man and his opponent is Tony Debone. Tony, Rob Imhoff, Chet Wambolt and Lauren Connllay are all running against candidates that support CO Landwatch.
@davidmedinapdx@OregonJournProj Thank you Jamie at @Real_EdDiehl for correcting the record. @OregonJournProj failed to contact us to verify donor numbers. We emailed your campaign 4/22 to explain Orestar's batched donations of <$100, which gave Ed's campaign far more small individual donors than the 250 needed.
