@ServusDeiVivi I don’t see anything wrong with using Square then. Just be aware of the fees. They cut into profit quite a bit, but it’s better than nothing when people use them, forget cash, and don’t pay at all. It wouldn’t hurt to ask the Archdiocese’s finance dept to ease their minds though!

@ServusDeiVivi I work for a diocese and do accounting for 6 parishes. Our auditors would lose their minds over it going to someone else then the parish. Too much room for error or embezzlement.

Is the parish not allowed to accept donations online? That’s pretty standard, at least in the US.

@Kc8wzm No, people shouldn't have to struggle to get to Mass, and nobody is saying they should. The answer isn't simple, though. Maybe there's something more parishes can do, but there's a personal responsibility here. Folks in the pews, both those in need and those in positions to help,
