Thank you, journos, for your stellar work in delivering important communications on COVID-19. Your hard work is deeply appreciated. I can imagine the toll it’s taking on you and your families. You’re heroes.
SURVEY: Have you been involved in research as a consumer rep? Or are you a researcher involving #healthconsumerreps? Together with @SHPartners we are working on training and tools to get more community involved in research. Helps us get it right: https://t.co/2jJpEQ1XUf

@mojopono Thank you - sorry for the week delay in noticing this. Yes I have heard about significant problems in both NSW and VIC in communicating COVID information to ESL communities. Does this mean that ESL lessons have also largely stopped?
A fascinating day facilitating this workshop on Trust & Transparency in Pharma funding of health consumer orgs. Hosted by @CPC_usyd with support from @HCNSW and @CHFofAustralia. Read a quick summary by @Asher_Wolf ...
@Asher_Wolf@Sydney_Uni@HCNSW@CPC_usyd @SerenasSoapbox @raymoynihan It was a pleasure to meet you Asher 😊 Your presentation was a stunning reminder of how the woeful governance and terrible ethics of one consumer organisation can be so destructive to a patient group. EDS patients deserve so much better.
NSW Health “Leading Better Value Care”. Great Vision.... but am I missing something? Consumer engagement does not appear in enablers....?? Surely consumers are critical to this program? @hcnsw#PExS2019
Great News! And about time!
- Patients have a right to self-report side-effects;
- Devices and implants should be tracked
- Health providers reporting side effects to TGA for central evaluation is obvious.
Why has it taken so long?

I am also seeing practitioners finding it hard to move beyond a patient-centred mindset that comes to enact patient engagement as merely for 'feedback'. It's much harder for staff to step into 'partnership mind' than patients. Because patients know they are people. Staff forget.
