Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Secretary @rex_gatchalian meets with delegates from the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) of the United Nations led by Deputy Director-General Elizabeth Bechdol on Friday (March 28) at the DSWD Central Office in Quezon City.

The discussion revolved on potential partnership between the agency and the international organization, emphasizing their shared commitment to enhancing food security and anti-hunger efforts.

Joining the DSWD chief in the meeting was Assistant Secretary Irene Dumlao of the Disaster Response and Management Group (DRMG), who is also the agency’s spokesperson.

FAO Deputy Director-General Bechdol was accompanied by Director Alex Jones for Resource Mobilization; Director Rein Paulsen for the Office of Emergencies and Resilience; Director Lifeng Li for Land and Water Division; Senior Agribusiness Officer Jozimo Santos Rocha; Senior Resilience Officer Hang Thi Thanh Pham who is also the Officer-in-charge of the Regional Office for Asia and the Pacific; and Representative in Afghanistan Richard Trenchard.

FAO Philippines Representative Lionel Dabbadie, Assistant Representative Dulce Carandang, National Communications Specialist Dawnavie Dadie and Programme Management Specialist Jake Evangelio also joined the discussion. (LSJ)
