When I’m having a bad day I like to take “time travel showers” and this means that by the time I get out of the shower I will have switched timelines to a more prosperous one
A beloved LA treehouse built by a Simpson’s producer 24 years ago is about to get torn down by LA Department of Building and Safety.
This is what they do instead of permit housing during a housing crisis. Beyond parody.
Well earned praise for our #atxcouncil. But don't forget these wins happen b/c @AURAatx (& many others) did the work to elect pro-housing candidates like @CMZoQadri@RyanAlter@joseforatx. Every #YIMBY group needs a slate of candidates that young people are eager to support!
Few people are talking about it but the work the Austin City council is doing right now on housing and parking is one of the most important things Democrats have done this year.
Mark my words- if Democrats don’t kick NIMBYism to the curb young voters will stop voting.
Guns silence thousands of lives every year. "The Shotline" was created to bring these voices back using AI technology in order to call our representatives. I just placed a call to @RepCasar using one of these voices, and you can join me. https://t.co/bVDSBirKn2
@AustinISD@Matias_AISD@fox7austin@KVUE@KXAN_News@SpectrumNews1TX@cbsaustin @Univision62 @TelemundoAustin As usual you are completely myopic to the reality that many families are faced with. Work. Living in outlying areas. Having to get multiple kids to school. Wind chills at bus stops. The singularity of focus that it would take to make such a bad decision is astounding.
2023 has been quite a year in Austin, and since it's my Birthday 🎂🎉🥳, I'd like to take a moment to reflect on some of the amazing things that happened over the last ~365 days thanks to the tireless community @AURAatx & our many partners, supporters and friends 🧵🧵🧵
This trip distance is more than 80% of all car trips in the United States.
E-bikes actually can, and are potentially already in the process of, wiping most car trips off the map.
Any city that isn’t clamoring to accelerate this is in climate (and cost, and safety) denial.
Really puts the terrible City of Austin special events news in perspective. Residents want fun & safe places to bike & our city is saying nope, car traffic & construction are the priority for the next TEN YEARS!
Imagine sitting on a $45 Billion surplus courtesy of TX taxpayers & thinking that $5 Billion for public schools is acceptable when TX schools are $40 Billion below natl average in student funding.
They aren’t even trying.
