•Never go to bed angry. We always agree to disagree, kiss each other, and continue the discussion in the morning.
•Hold hands when you fight. You can’t go too crazy when you’re holding hands. Fight fair, no name calling.
•Smile and give each other loving eyes, even when arguing. You love each other, you’re just working through something.
•Be open and honest about everything. We always say, “All the cards on the table, all the time.” We do share how we’re feeling, but we say it lovingly.
•Express yourself quickly and kindly so little things don’t become big issues.
•Prioritize their needs above your own. If you’re always looking out for them and they’re always looking out for you, selfishness disappears.
•Keep dating each other. Schedule regular date nights, especially when you have kids. We didn’t have a lot of money, so we did free things like picnics, walks, and hikes in the mountains.

We have this funny rule: when one person is being unreasonable, the other can’t join in. It works great. If I’m being unreasonable first and he tries to join me, I’ll say, “You can’t join me, I was unreasonable first!”
We start laughing, and usually the argument ends right there.

Most arguments are over something really silly. If we could just “dance” with each other better, we’d waste less time on conflict. You’re going to make up eventually, so the sooner the better.

When God is the foundation, your marriage isn’t just about the two of you. It becomes a testimony of His love. 💛

To capture the true perception I want the audience to see, makes it or breaks it. If a wrong point of engagement is not achieved the pictures story dies quickly.

I now tend to draw non symmetrical story lines. That is also why I love this, it tells a story beautifully.
