What do you see..?
I see the REAL El Salvador
When you see pictures of El Salvador it’s probably just of beautiful volcanoes and beaches. Or stories of how president @nayibbukele turned his country into the safest place to live on the western hemisphere but you don’t see the other side and unfortunately when a few people arrive here they feel as if they’ve been deceived. They laugh at places like bitcoin beach.
They show the dirt roads, they show the peoples homes built from scrap metal, sticks, and other materials they find.
I see humans with a story. Inspiring souls with purpose. I see an opportunity to build a better life for their children.
Do you remember when you were a child and how you enjoyed making forts? Building tree houses, snow igloos? (for us Canadians) or even Legos? It is the process of BUILDING something beautiful.
When you come to El Salvador you will see beautiful malls. Modern neighborhoods, epic sunsets.. but as you travel outside of the bubble of wealth you will find the HEART of El Salvador. It’s people.
The people who pick our coffee, the people that serve us our coffee, the people who’ve built our roads, the malls, our homes.. the people who LIVE with the wealthy, cooking for them, cleaning after them, washing their boxers cagados..
“Blessed are the meek, for they will inherit the earth”
I want to remind my friends about the true purpose of our lives and to remember that we will return to the dust. As this beautiful country continues to thrive, to grow, may we NEVER forget about the real side of El Salvador. When you come here and when you meet these people just know they have a story. They have purpose. They have potential..
I am excited seeing the shacks along my farm. We have 40-70 tin homes that live along our farm. We’ve hired their families. We do not pretend they don’t exist. NO.. I look at this as an opportunity to build my new “tree house” how can we take a community and break the cycle of poverty for them? How can teach them to build their own home? To save for retirement? To be able to feed their elders?
That is my teams mission and I invite you to join us or simply find YOUR mission in life
