But if ATs aren’t making the right decision for themselves and continue to burn out at such a high rate that gap grows rather than shrinking if salary/benefits/conditions improve and make the profession more attractive to 2/

@jmeatcemt @mnhopper1s The gaps already existed and have for some time. ATs are starting to look out for themselves which also helps other ATs. Some districts see a couple ATs leave and then all of the sudden every AT in the district gets a market raise. 1/

@TimDonofrio @mnhopper1s In the short term most definitely. In theory if salaries rise, conditions/benefits/respect improve to an appropriate level that makes the profession attractive, more people interested in becoming ATs and supply can self correct in the long term.

@mnhopper1s Certainly a long way to go but steps in the right direction. Hopefully we’ll see this continue to grow. Some of it falls on ATs to make those personal “selfish” decisions about what’s best for them and their family. Staying in jobs condones those poor conditions/salary etc.
