Trading can give you freedom. That’s the benefit especially if you enjoy it.
Never having anyone else telling you what to do, never having to be in 1 place if you don’t want to be.
Plenty of places to make $ without the stress. Worst thing a trader can do is blow his money on stupid stuff too.
“People who live far below their means enjoy a freedom that people busy upgrading their lifestyles can't fathom.”
~ Naval
One of the biggest changes in my trading came from raising my standards.
Not finding a new strategy.
Not adding another indicator.
Simply saying "no" more often.
- No to loose price action.
- No to mediocre breakouts.
- No to stocks that almost fit my rules.
Every trade competes for one limited resource: My capital.
If a stock doesn't clearly stand out, it doesn't deserve a position.
Ironically, the fewer trades I took, the better my results became.
Higher standards don't reduce your opportunities. They eliminate the ones that were never worth taking in the first place.
Average standards produce average trades.
Exceptional results begin with exceptional standards.
